Limited Release
From Winnipeg, Manitoba’s Fort Garry Brewing Co (Owned by Russell Brewing Co in Surrey BC) comes their “Frontier Beer”. The Frontier Beer was the very first craft beer made in Winnipeg back in 1932. No longer one of Fort Garry’s lineup this Pilsner was recreated for this special release. The pilsner pours a clear golden colour with a white head. The aroma consists of biscuit malts, citrus, with a grassy grainy finish. The flavour is of biscuit malts and other grains with a grassy hops that builds to a mildly unbalanced bitterness and a hint of citrus. The alcohol content comes in at 5.5% with an IBU of 30. As many know I am not a big pilsner or lager fan but I can appreciate what this beer brings to the table.
